A bill that was unanimously passed in the House failed to pass in the Senate. (FWIW, it was H.R. 299, but I’d be interested in finding this information on any bill.) How do I find out who voted for it, and against it?
I tried that, but I couldn’t find the bill I’m looking for.
Too late to edit:
I see that the bill is for the 115th Congress, which is earlier than I thought. I also see that it’s S.422 in the Senate, but I’m not finding the votes.
It seems that the bill died in committee in the Senate. They apparently never voted on it.
One house doesn’t necessarily take action on bills passed by the other. Last year at one point there were more than 500 House passed bills on which the Senate hadn’t taken action.
Thank you.
Senate Bill 422 from the 115th Congress apparently died in committee, as it its previous attempts. A companion House Bill HR 299 passed the House but also died in a Senate Committee.
