Where can I learn more about Archelogical detective work?

I just read a Scientific American article about the excavation of Otzi, the 5000 year old preserved body and I was fascinated by all the stuff they managed to find out from scant evidence. Where can I go to learn more about how they go about doing this kind of stuff?

If I were head of a project like that, I would go crazy. I would be so afraid that any experiment I wanted to do would somehow mess up the evidence and prevent me from doing a more important experiment later on.

How do you decided when it is neccesary to do a destructive experiment (eg: getting the contents of the stomach?)

Well, the normal way to learn more about it is to get a PhD in archaeology. Takes about 10 years. Good luck with that.

I’m trying to remember the title but there is a relatively recent book (last 2 years) all about Otzi and the science (and politics) that went into that find. I think its this book:
