Besides Australia and the US, where can one go surfing? Is it possible anywhere in the Caribbean? How about the Mediteranean? I’ve heard you can surf in Somalia, if you don’t mind the man-eating sharks in the water and the gun-toting militias out of the water. Anybody know anyplace else?
You can surf in the channel (it’s colder than the US or Oz, but there are quite a few good spots, so I’m informed, off the south coast of England) and also I’d imagine the bay of Biscay would be OK. Defintely not the Mediteranean, being a mostly enclosed body of water it’s usually very calm.
Stentor - forthwith, at your greatest speed, go and hire the two “Endless Summer” films.
They show a great deal of wonderful footage and humour as a group of buddies go travelling the world in search of good waves.
And the list of spots are legion. In particular, the Pacific region is now alive with tourist surf breaks - wonderful reef breaks with awesome regular swells and tubes.
Africa has a formidable array of famous surf breaks too.
There are thousands of 'em - all over the globe.
The best known UK surfing resorts aren’t in the Channel, but are on the west coast facing the Atlantic. Places like Newquay in Cornwall and the Gower in Wales.

I was guessing that the determined / adventurous have donned heavy wetsuits and surfed some preposterously cold climates, which nevertheless, had surf. “surf norway” led me to that.
That doesn’t even consider “surf iceland”. This guy seems to be serious:
Oops, yes your’re right, I thought Newquay was on the south coast, which is a bit stupid seening as I’ve been there on several occasions (though, when I was a child).
Bali (Indonesia) and South Africa have good surfing. I’m fairly sure there are a few other good places around Indonesia/Malaysia.
One of the longest left-hand surf breaks in the world is at Manu Bay, Raglan, in New Zealand.

Blue Juice is a video you can get about surfing in England, but there was something about having to chip through the ice in the winter…
I dont know of any continent you can’t surf. Maybe not the at the poles but who knows?
I learned how to surf in Tofino, BC (Canada) which is somewhat north.
We did wear wetsuits.
