Where Did All the Sleeves Go?

Well, except that you are now purchasing two garments instead of one… I suppose so, but most shells I’ve seen are still short-sleeved (or cap sleeved, which I consider in the same category) which is annoying for those of us looking for 3/4 or full length sleeves.

Most of the time I wear a t-shirt with a light flannel shirt over it, or a sweatshirt. At work our uniform shirts are short-sleeved but there’s an allowed fleece option with sleeves, and folks who need arm coverings due to one thing or another can also opt for something like this which, although not stylish, are functional for our work environment.

Summer is the worst - I’d like to wear dresses/shirt+blouse occasionally but I really need to keep the sun off my skin. There is a dearth of light-weight summer options for doing that.

The sleeveless trend is the best thing that ever happened to me. Between my personal summer, the dress code that requires a jacket or sweater and the short arms that mean every jacket I buy needs alterations -pretty much every thing I buy except jackets and sweaters is sleeveless.

Could we get a linguist to translate this into English, please.

Wedding gowns with sleeves are becoming much more popular, thanks to Kate Middleton and a general trend of celebrities wearing sleeved gowns. However, they can be a major pain to fit for a lot of women (especially plus sized women) and can frequently require expensive tailoring to avoid puckering and gapping in the fit. Strapless gowns are still popular (the strapless sweetheart A-line gown with full tulle or pickup skirt has been a bestseller five or six years running), especially among women who want to minimize their bust, but lacy sleeved gowns are gaining huge are mounts of ground particularly for women who want a trendy barn-Pinterest-mason jars type wedding.

>sigh<

I’m glad it’s benefiting someone, because for some of us it’s been terrible. What cranks me off is not that sleeveless is available, but all the other options have nearly disappeared so there is less choice rather than more.

And yes, I get that properly fitting sleeves can be an issue, I’ve suffered from that myself.

Somethin’ somethin’ about sleeping it off. Oh, and don’t tell the world your problems or a crow will peck your eyes out.

Thank you. Im getting the gist, I think. Now what does it have to do with sleeves?

Without sleeves there’s nowhere upon which to wear your heart. But you knew that
