Only a few people are warned to leave Sodom and Gommorah. If a caravan of tourists had visited either city the next week, they would have found ruins. But no angels with megaphones saying "This flaming crater brought to you by God! Yes, God!" Very likely, the tourists would conclude that the cities had gone to war and demolished each other.
Abraham speaks with God. Sarah never does. Moses alone sees a burning bush. Sure all of Egypt witnessed the plagues, but Moses is alone again on Sinai.
The flaming pillar that leads the Israelites is a rare public appearance. In general, God chats with one prophet who goes out and leads the people. It could very well be that such prophets are among us now, some totally unrecognised.
OR
God acts laregly to instruct and preserve the Israelites. Since the group was musch smaller then, it needed more protecting. Thus, the Ten Plagues. Yes, six million Jews died in the Holocaust, but we survived without an obvious miracle. From the Holocaust, came the modern nation of Israel. Now that the Talmud is available on the web, the odds of a mad king destroying the Jews are lower than ever.
The same argument could be made for Christianity or Islam. These faiths have more than enough members to defend themselves without miracles.
Witnessing Warning
I have experienced that voice, gentle and strong at once, that gives me the hope and strength to go on. That indeed is the hand of God. I'm no saint either, but I know the hand of God when I see it. Forget the bible, if you want answers look within.

Well, I’m not an advantageously overeccentric religious person here, but the entire purpose of this whole webpage it to fight ignorance. And if you’re gonna attack religion and the people who wrote the bible, you need to get it straight. The best way to defeat your enemies is to educate yourself about them.
People did not take it upon themselves to write god’s word. If I’m not mistaken, they were chosen as prophets as God’s word by God himself.(ex.-Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Malachai…) And if God is God, I don’t think he’d let a lose interpretation of his word slide by.
