Where did Lilith come from ?

I’m just sitting here watching pop-up-video and they made some reference to the Lilith Fair and some christian groups were offened by it since it was named after Lilith, Adam’s first wife. I’ve never heard of her, she is not in the Bible as far as I know, so what is her story and where did it come from ?

I’m not sure this is in the right place. Please move it if I guessed wrong.

Lilith is a midrash, or explanatory story, that explains why there are 2 versions of the human creation in Genesis. The first says “man and woman, G-d created them.” The second gives the story about women coming from adam’s rib.
