Where did the quote "Women want you and men want to BE you" come from?

Google just reveals a bunch of lame PUA blogs.

“Women want him and men want to be him” is a line from Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, but I’m sure there’s an earlier source.

I’ve heard/read it said about Sean Connery as James Bond – probably from a DVD commentary, a newspaper or magazine review of a a Bond movie, or both – which, insofar as this observation had already become a bit cliched, also helps explain the Austin Powers reference.

And before James Bond it was used for Sinatra and Humphrey Bogart, among others. I’m sure it goes back to at least the 1950s.

I’m sure it goes back to forever. It’s the essence of being a successful man.
