I have an odd name story. My name is Suzette. My mother went to a Tupperware party about a week before I was born and bought one of these:

She then decided that she liked the name so much, she named me Suzette. Is that bizzare or what? Everyone figues I’m French, but I’m Slovak/Russian (with a French name).
Anyone else have odd name origin stories?

My dad decided on the name while wiping his ass.
My middle name is Thomas. When my dad was in college, he needed a car really bad (for a date with my mom?) and didn’t have one. His best friend at the time, Tom, lent him his. My dad’s response was, “Thanks so much! I’ll name my first-born after you.”
I thought hemmeroid was just a nickname…
well i’m named after my grandmother which i thought was lame when i was younger until i heard the other choices of names, if i had been a boy u’d be speaking to a wolfgang.

My parents allowed my older sister to name me and at the time she had a friend named Susan who she played with. My middle name, Beth was just a name my parents liked.
My mother said she always dreamed of having a little girl named Amy Rebecca. Must have…I’m certainly not named after any family or friends.
