The question is where Trump goes. He’s not Mott Rimney or Mon JacCain; he won the presidency. His hubris is such that I could see him forming a third party if the GOP doesn’t continue licking his boots, and he would certainly draw some voters from the traditional GOP (and to a lesser extent the Democratic Party). Ultimately, he might even have a long-term beneficial effect on US politics, creating a safe space for racist voters and letting the GOP get back to its more sensible days.
