For me personally it’s motivation. I don’t get dinged on it because I always get my assignments/tasks done by or before he set deadline. But I could seriously use some more motivation, combine my lack of motivation with easy internet access and you can understand why sit on a project for days, make up progress updates and then crunch at the last moment to finish up…
According to my boss I fall down on communication - I have to be nicer to people and watch what I say to whom and when. I’m a very straightforward direct person and don’t put up with b**shit. If you consistently screw up or don’t get things even after I explained them to you multiple times I will tell you. I’ve been known to include such corporate email/phone no-no’s like “How many times do I have…”, “which part aren’t you getting…”, “hello this is corprate looking for the property idiot”.
I dread to think how much free time I’d have if it wasn’t for the distraction of the internet. And at the same time I wonder why others around me put in the same amount of hours, yet spent hardly any time online - are they all really that inefficient?
