Vinmonopolet, of course
No problem. While you are there, ask for Jay Erisman, TJ Christie or Tim Kinstler to help you with their most recent wine selections. Tim in particular is extremely knowledgeable about wine in general and German wines in particular. Great guys, all.
I used to work there, and while low-paying, it was a great job working in the wine department. We tasted wines at least once or twice a week, and had tasting note sheets, we graded the wines, etc. I was the guy responsible for crafting a summation of our comments/scores, and making one of our own shelf talkers for each wine. We focused heavily on value, as we were generally only allotted wines to taste that were roughly under $25 (which basically means we had a lot of these wines). Sadly, our four case allocation of 2000 Chateau Margaux wasn’t something we were at liberty to crack open!
FoieGrasIsEvil:
Sad to say that Tim Kinstler is no longer at the Party Source. He overstayed his welcome. The Source still has a fairly good selection, though not quite as good in the French and German sections as when Tim was there.
