Where have you eaten out since the lockdown?

I’m confused if the topic is dine-in (which most of us can’t do) or meaning from take-out/FROM restaurants in general?

If the latter, I’ve been eating out more because it’s harder to grocery shop now. I usually cook at home and take meals to work. Lately it’s more convenient and expensive and less healthy to buy breakroom food or do something like Jimmy Johns on the way.

Any food from a restaurant or bar. Just like most other places, Washington State allows only takeaway or delivery. Some places, like the Subway I just mentioned, still let you order inside–but you have to leave after picking up your order.

No sit-down restaurants are open here. We had a take-out pizza a couple of weeks ago because it’s the best NY pizza in the city, but otherwise nothing.

I have a routine of getting takeout on the last day of the work week (either Thursday or Friday; I work a 9/80 schedule), and I’ve been continuing that routine. I’ve gone to:
[ul]
[li]El Pollo Loco. They sent me a $5 coupon on my birthday, and a felt I had to use it.[/li][li]In-N-Out Burger, twice. The last time I was there it looked like only the drive-thru was open. [/li][li]The Habit, another California based burger chain.[/li][/ul]

Locally, it’s take out or delivery only. Picked up several pizzas from our favorite place and we’ve gone to two of the local seafood places trying to survive. Order ahead, pick up at take out window and dine in the comfort of our truck.

While takeout is still ok here, we haven’t got any food from anywhere since probably mid-March. We’ve cooked everything ourselves.

Which isn’t bad; we’re both good cooks, and between our fridges/freezers and what we’ve been able to get for pickup at the grocery store, we’ve cooked all sorts of good stuff- pizza twice, Rick Bayless’ slow cooked pork stew with tomatillos, mushrooms and potatoes, stir-fry twice, wine-braised pork shoulder, chicken soup, etc… We even felt sorry enough for our son who was begging for a hamburger, that we got a chuck roast (no ground meat to be had), and ground it to make our own hamburger meat.

The main gripe we have is the time and effort involved; cooking and cleaning up afterwards is a pain when it has to be done every day for at least one meal a day (we tend to cook for dinner and eat leftovers for lunch).

Here in London I ordered a delivery from a local and quite reputable Indian restaurant. I ordered it at 8pm, it arrived at 11.45pm! Never again.

A local pizza place (not a chain, delicious pizza) and some fast food. Texas Roadhouse is selling their raw steaks for quite a good deal and we bought some to make for Easter dinner.

If you count takeaway, the usual places on the usual days. A New Mexican restaurant, Popeye’s, Smashburger and Chick-Fil-A, which by the way I hate. I have always hated their stupid misspelled name and their stupid misspelled ads, their logo is ugly, and then they were socially fundy or something BUT it was a blizzard and they are close. None of us like to cook, although we are all pretty good at it, and our dishwasher’s broken.

You’re making me drool. Fried fresh lake perch was still a Friday night tradition when I was a kid in the Cleveland area in the 60s.

And I agree, it had to come to the table with the French fries hot and right out of the kitchen. Cold fried potatoes are the worst. Cold fried fish is the second worst.

No place. The only thing going for fast food is getting a hot meal immediately. I have a thing about greasy sensations so I’m not eating in my car and even the 10 minutes to get home makes most fast food landfill. I balk at the cost and effort of taking nicer food home to eat.

Maybe Chipotle for lunch tomorrow though…

No dine-in in the state. We haven’t bought prepared food or takeout.

No where. I’m dying for a Sonic corndog. :frowning:

Mid-daughter is a great cook. Me, her and the lil’wrekker are trying all kinds of dishes to keep things interesting.

DIL is the only one shopping for 2 households. She’s very careful. We wipe everything before it comes in the house.

Here’s hoping we’re doing enough.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I think I got Wendy’s breakfast once from a drive through because I wanted to try it and Jimmy Johns because I had some free sandwich offers. The way my work schedule is, I work 6 nights a week and only really eat on break. I do intermittent fasting and that improved my health greatly. So what I would normally do is make my meals for 3-4 days at a time and then bring them in and heat up. But grocery stores are no longer open when I’m awake and my work removed 2/3 of the microwaves and break room seating for social distancing, now require only clear containers and “encourage” not bringing any food that needs to be chilled or heated. Also, I can’t really have food delivered because my break times change and are staggered. So i’m on a lot of convenience food, some Amazon Fresh deliveries and rarely things I can pick up on the way to work and eat later. Every 2 weeks or so I miss out on a few hours of sleep to hit an essential workers grocery hour but i’m always going through there like a zombie contestant on Supermarket Sweep with no plan.

Pizza Hut (I don’t care what anyone says, it’s my favorite) a couple of weeks ago, Chinese carryout a week or so later, McDonald’s for lunch on the day before Passover started, Pizza Hut again tonight to celebrate the end of Passover, and Italian or possibly Indian carryout tomorrow night to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary.

Pre-COVID, I would probably have had lunch out at Jersey Mike’s or some such at least once a week, and we would have had dinner out once or twice more in the past month.

Costco pizza once.
Costco hot dogs with the granddaughter once.
McDs a couple of times. Tenders and fries.
Chinese takeout for wife’s birthday party. [subdued with most folks on line].

I’m hankering for sushi. A combo platter of salmon, two/three types of tuna, some ebi, shrimp for the wife.

I got some chicken parmigiana to from my local pizza joint in the Bronx on March 15, but that was before full lockdown started. I got back to Panama before lockdown started here, but I was on home quarantine for 14 days after I got back, and now nothing is open. So it’s been about a month since I’ve had anything I didn’t make (or microwave) myself.

At the ‘Y’.

Is the OP comprising a list of where to send the police for those who are non-compliant? Not a problem here in NY, as Uke Ike pointed out, there ain’t no restaurants to eat at since lockdown. I have ordered plenty of take-out. Trying to keep my favorite restaurants open and thriving.

No sit-down meals in restaurants, pubs or clubs here in Australia. None, zilch, nada.

My big outing nowadays is getting an iced-latte from MacDonald’s drive through. I am seriously jonesing for a chicken parma at our local sporting club when this shit is over though.
