Zette:
I never went to the zoo, probably because I never heard anything good about it. Take your chances. You might also want to check out my alma mater, Calvin College. They occasionally have decent cultural events and seminars.
It’s not how you pick your nose, it’s where you put the boogers
You should hit the Gerald Ford Museum for the Gift Shop, at least.
I’ve done the Dan Quayle Museum in Muncie, Indiana (or somewhere near Muncie, Indiana…the landscape all kind of blurs together out there), and come out of it with a lovely assortment of Dan Quayle memorabilia: coffee mugs, t-shirts, stationery, playing cards from Air Force Two, etc.
And to show your deep respect for these fine U.S. statesmen, and for the Republican Party in general, I recommend shoplifting! The cashiers tend to be old ladies who don’t watch you very closely, and who would be darn easy to outrun if they catch on!
Uke, the Quayle museum is in Huntington, Indiana. I drove right past it and was gonna stop just last week on the way to the Springfield debacle. Too bad it was closed.
What the hell is actually exhibited in that place? A golf club and bag of Idaho bakers?
Well, the Gerald R. Ford museum is a must-see. I live in Lansing, just a short drive away. If you have time to burn, you can come here and see the Michigan Historical Musium, take a tour of the State Capital Building, or go to MSU’s Abram’s Planitarum, just to name a few things.

Just my two scents.

If you have your own transportation, with the way the weather has been the last couple of weeks, you could try Holland, MI (should be tulips up, soon) and Lake Michigan is not very far away.
