Well, I made it here! I’m in sunny Grand Rapids, MI for a business trip. The good news is, I got here alive and had nice flights. I also did a major phase of my work (a day early) and it was successful. Yippie!
Oh, the hotel also has a store connected to it with all sorts of food and munchies…mmmmm. I got a pint of pistachio Ben and Jerrys to celebrate my success of the day.
The bad news is, I seem to have a pounding headache. I get very nervous flying, so maybe it’s stress. It is fading, though. Yeah!

(PS- look for me in chat this week…I’ll be in there a lot!)

After a few trips, you’ll be a seasoned traveller and will laugh at bad weather.
Whenever I’m in a new city, I try to see at least one local historical site. What’s Grand Rapids like?
Well, glad you’re in the lovely state of Michigan. The weather here has been kind of sporaddic(sp?), but here in MI we say, “If you don’t like it wait 5 minutes.”
Gotta love that Ben and Jerry’s. Always a wonderful reward for yourself, and I sure do miss it after giving up added sugar for lent. Mmm, Ben and Jerry’s.
I hope your headache has faded by the time you read this.
Grace,
Actually, it is gone! Thank goodness…
I plan on going to a few places here in my free time. There are some museums and such, and the Meijer Gardens which I want to see. Should be fun!
Grand Rapids seems nice- I haven’t had a chance to explore yet, though. I got right to work when I got here.

Bland Rapids.
Lived there for two years, parents still do. What a nightmareish town.
IIRC: GR has more churches per capita than any other place in the US. It also had the highest rate of child sexual abuse. 28th Street has more restaurants along it’s length than any other street in the US.
Good luck, and don’t let anyone goad you into a discussion about abortion or religion.
