Where Is My Mind? (aka. Pixies in the movies)

The Pixies are one of my favorite bands, and it always gives me a thrill to hear their music in the soundtrack to a movie. Their well known song “Where Is My Mind?” has been the closing credit music for at least two movies that I know of; Fight Club and The Adventures of Sebastian Cole. But I could have sworn I’ve heard it in another movie or two.

Does anyone know if that song has appeared in any other movie (especially as closing credit music), AND does anyone recall any other Pixies songs in other movies?

“Monkey’s Gone to Heaven” was in Grosse Pointe Blank.

You mean “this monkey’s gone to heaven”? Those are the words?

Those are the lyrics, yes, but the actual song title is simply Monkey Gone To Heaven. Good one, forgot about that movie.

Any one else remember any?

“Wave of Mutilation” was in Pump Up The Volume, way back when I was still in high school.

LunaSea is right, it was actually an alternate version of Wave of Mutilation. Pretty good one too

I see that Pump up the Volume has already been mentioned, so I have no movies to add. Just want to say that on top of the kickass movie that was Fight club, I nearly creamed my pants between hearing Tom Waits’ Goin out West and Pixies’ Where is my mind?.

Good stuff.

“Where Is My Mind?” was also in “A Matter of Degrees.”

“Empire Records”

.5 points for a Martinis song.
.5 points for a curbside discussion during the closing credits about the Pixies.

Total: 1 point.

Oh, just saw these (sorry): “Pump up the volume” (ick), “Married to the Mob” (!?). But both are better than “Fight Club”.
