Where is the Ashley Madison hacked data being posted?

I’m just convinced that the NSA is using my Kinect to watch me jack it I mean, why else would Microsoft have made it a mandatory bundle with the X Box One?

They’re not necessarily the sharpest tools in the shed.

The data was publicly released today.

Oh, it is now.

You mean the guy who has admitted to molesting his underage siblings over the course of years? So he also had an account on AM. This is a non-story.

Anyone care to start a pool as to when someone creates an online searchable database?

You can check for email addresses here, however, Ashley Madison apparently didn’t verify users emails so anyone could have used anyone else’s address. A lucky excuse for many people, I’m sure.

Uh, yesterday?

They had some up last night. Bigger thing is when they allow us to submit our own queries and do more advanced searches that email matches.

I actually meant a full data search of any information in the file. Name, location, anything. Should have been more clear. Sorry about that.

It would be fun to put up an email search site, collect the email addresses that people search for and add them to the list.

Relevant photo.

First, you have to find a Federal Attorney or DA who isn’t on the list

Where is Eliot Ness when you need him?

How dumb would you have to be to not create an email address specifically for this purpose? Also, no verification was necessary? It’s hard to believe the searchable sites will reveal much.

Very, very dumb.

Yes, but people are idiots. The Duggar kid used his real email address and we know it wasn’t someone else using it because IP addresses tracked to his work and home.

Someone has set up a site analyzing some of the data available.

Ashley Madison Hack: Who the users are, what they look for, and the government officials among them

Apparently 6.3% of all Canadians have an Ashley Madison account. Who knew!

No. There are the same amount of Canadian emails as 6.3% of the Canadian population. This does not account for people with multiple accounts.

I saw it on the internet so it must be true…

I used the big grin smiley because there isn’t one for tongue in cheek.

ETA: Does anyone know if it’s possible to buy stock in divorce courts?

Hum…
Wonder if Donald Trump needs a few accounts there.
Not that’d I do such a thing.
(is Trump Towers his address?)

Ihave to wonder at the number of accounts that press reports attribute to AM. I saw the number 30 million a couple of times. Almost one tenth of the population of the country? I don’t think so. Could that be the number of visits to the website over some period of time? Where do these numbers come from (besides an AM press release)?

It’s not just the U.S. Thirty million out of 7 billion is high, but not as implausibly high as 30 million Americans
