We currently do not own a cat. We’ve had a barn cat in the past. We’ve had strays show up that I’ve trapped, had spayed/neutered, and found homes for, but currently we do not have a cat.
However, for close to two weeks now we have had “meowing” each evening as we sit eating our dinner. This morning there was continuous meowing as we got ready for work.
So, what’s going on? I’ll answer any questions, and will let you know if you guess correctly.
We were in St Martin a couple of weeks ago. A friend (with a cat) bird-sat. Her cat was kept out of the living room most of the time, and apparently was very vocal about her feelings.
Rocco has been meowing ever since, and it is getting annoying.
Don’t discount the wall. One of our cats got trapped in a wall. After a remodeling a small section of a closet upper wall was not done, and the kitty climbed up there and went in head first and dropped to the lower section of the wall where she could not get out. I ended up having to cut out a section of drywall. Sam just waltzed out as if to say, “What took you so long?”
My son began hearing cats under the floor of the house he had moved to. We found missing mortar around the chimney allowing them in the crawl space.
A guy I know rented a small house to a crazy woman who used me as a reference. He never bothered to call me; I woulda told home she was not someone he’d want as a tenant, no way.
So, one night she called him because her cat had gotten into a wall. Never mind that it’s a “no pets” lease, her cat is in the wall.
So he tells her he’ll be there in 20 minutes. Thirty seconds later she convinces herself the cat will die if she doesn’t get it out NOW. She uses her iron to break through the wallpapered drywall into the wrong bay. So she uses her iron to break through the wallpapered drywall of random, also empty bays. Over and over. It’s like The Tell-Tale Heart kind of a situation and she is in the midst of a manic phase thing.
He arrives, unscrews the screws holding on the access panel behind the shower water supply. The cat hops out, kind of anticlimactic.
