Where is your school class ring?

I wore my high school one for quite a while and later threw it out. I think I started to wonder why I had it when I hated high school so much. I didn’t get a college ring.

When I was a senior in high school (late 90s), nobody wanted a class ring. They were lame. Big, gaudy, tasteless. I ignored the Josten’s sales reps when they came to my school.

…but my mother was sure that I would want one, “eventually”, so she ordered one without telling me. Set with my birthstone, aquamarine. An ugly ring, a mineral with a color I would never wear, and I don’t like men’s jewelry to begin with. So 15 years later, I suspect my mom still has that terrible ring floating around in a jewelry box on her dresser somewhere.

We went through the same nonsense when I graduated college 5 years later. This was even sillier. I went to a huge state university. One of the best in the world, but do I really feel that much kinship with the 8,000 people that graduated with me? My mom ordered a very similarly silly college class ring, “for me”, same huge ugly design, same terrible birthstone.

:smack:

I know she meant well and was just proud, but ugh.

I still wear my college class ring. My high school class ring is in the box my college class ring came in. When I look at it, it always shocks me how brand-new it looks, but then I remember, I only wore it for about 4 years, whereas I’ve worn my college one for 25 years or so now.

Sold my high school one when gold prices went through the roof. Hadn’t worn it since summer after high school. Never got a college one. I figured I’d eventually lose the high school one and may as well get something for it

My answer is semi-complicated. Back when my life was going to hell, but still had illusions I would actually graduate, I got a (college) ring. Wore it couple time. Don’t know where it is, only care for Cash4Gold purposes. Got another one earlier this spring. Received it, haven’t worn it. (In my bedroom at apartment) Since the calendar year will still be accurate, I’ll wear it occasionally.

I moved from school to school, as my family moved.
I was in my last HS for 3 months, so who cares?

Mine is at the bottom of Lake 16 in Indiana.

A couple of years after high school and a weight loss, it came off when I was scooping a fish up with a net.

JMO, but your last sentence should’ve been your 1st.
