Where, oh where, do I find Martin (and Erikson) Cliffnotes version?

I think I read A Song Of Ice And Fire and The Malazan Book Of The Fallen around the same time. At the time, there were four ASOIAF books and eight Malazan books. Delay delay delay, life happened, and by the time Dust of Dreams came out I’d totally forgotten who and what most of the eight zillion characters were, which made for a confusing reading. Based on my “Huh?” reaction to a lot of the ASoIaF threads here, I’m guessing it will be the same for A Dance With Dragons.

So, is there anyone with too much time on their hands who can remind of what happened in books 1-4? Or in the likelier event that you have lives, can you point me in the direction of such a summery?

This may be bordering on the impossible, but is there also something that can remind me of who’s what in the Malazan books? (The last time I asked this I got sent to a list of all the characters. Problem was, it was a list of all the characters, minor and major, and it would have taken me hours, or possibly days, to pick through the entries, find the most important figures, and then reconstruct the storyline from their short bios). I dunno that I could take out the previous eight books and read them all again. For one, my library doesn’t have some of them.

Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. At least, I hope it will be patience and understanding. I just don’t remember things well.

Wikipedia has plot summaries of all the Martin books, starting here. For a chapter-by-chapter summary, westeros.org comes through.

Not sure on Erikson, but probably worth a look.
