I remember reading a short story with a title very similar to Where The Stars Go To Die. I don’t remember much about it, other than the hospital was St. John’s in Santa Monica. I don’t recall if the hospital was named in the story.
Can anyone give me the correct title, and the name of the author?
It just occurred to me that I may have read the story in American Anthology Of Short Fiction. Only, searching for a book by that name turned up nothing. If I did read the story in the OP in an anthology, I think the anthology also contained John Updike’s A & P.
There is a nursing home for retired stars. They are usually pretty ill when they go there. It’s sad how close they came to losing the resource. A lot of these stars have known each other 50 years or more. It must help having people they can talk to with shared life experiences.
