Is there a free source for radio ratings? I can only find websites that require paid membership to vew station or show ratings. I have also found radio show ratings rankings, but not actual ratings numbers to compare a radio show from one quarter to the next.
Radio ratings (in the US anyway) are primarily done by Arbitron. Since they charge stations for their rating books you probably won’t find a lot of detailed information available for free.
Radiodiscussions.comis a broadcaster’s forum, with a lot of inside stuff, and individual forums for top markets. You’ll find a lot of ratings talk there, but mixed up with other news and gossip, not organized.
Are you planning to buy radio time? The station will provide.
I’m not immediately looking to buy radio time, just more curious than anything. The message board kunilou linked to looks promising. Thanks.
I tried this link from Arbitron’s site and was able to get a ratings report on my local market.

I couldn’t get any data from that, just a schedule of when the ratings come out.
To the OP:
Allaccess.com posts some arbitron data. I think it has the station rankings for each market and might have rankings by timeslot. You have to sign up, but it’s free.
