Almost impossible to find for that price. Depending on how much time you have and if you need them all to match or not, I’ve found that garage sales are a goldmine for cheap frames. You should be able to find some within just a weekend or two of garagin’.
Looks like you don’t have a Blick’s near you, but you can order online. They have what you want for about $12-14, and everything there is always on sale, all the time.
I got a bunch of attractive cheap frames at Michael’s over the holidays. Most of them were in the 8-10 dollar price range. They were having a huge sale -40% off pictures frames. Not sure how common that is!
When I was visiting my friend in NC this summer, we went to Dollar General (or Family Dollar??) in uhm…Durham maybe and I bought a bunch of 11x14 black frames with white mattes for I think $3 each. I bought them all out and had to run over to Roxboro to get the remaining few I needed.
Look at those types of stores, or dollar stores. They often have excellent frames.
I wanted to do a bunch of collages on the wall with some photographs my husband and I took and thought the pricing on frames was ridiculous.
I went to Goodwill and picked up a bunch of cheesy art with decent wooden frames for 25 cents to a dollar each, dumped the art and then spraypainted the frames. I had a mat cutter already, but you can grab one at the craft store for less than $30. I think we matted and framed about a dozen photos for under $40.
Edited to add: these were mostly smaller pictures, 5x7 or so. I think for the larger stuff you might have to pay $3-5 or so at Goodwill. Still a much better deal than new retail. I’d also check out garage sales.
Big Lots always has picture frames for very good prices. (Sometimes my boyfriend goes there and buys a bunch of them and sells them at his camera shop for twice the price. Shh!)
I’ve done something similar to XJETGIRLX. I found a bunch of cheap art with frames I liked, tossed the art and used the frames. Much cheaper than buying a dozen frames alone.
My brother always buys them at estate sales and removes the art, etc. At garage sales you’re often buying damaged/banged up stuff. It’s ironic that people will sell a painting for a quarter because they realize it may not be to someone else’s taste…but they would charge a lot more for the bare frame.
OP, if you’re looking to buy a matching set of frames, I don’t know what to tell you. I have bought cheep frames at discount stores, but do check the provision for how they attach and/or stand. Some have a rudimentary clip for hanging to a wall OR a leg for standing, but maybe not both. You may end up buying some hardware if you’re going to hang them…they aren’t always easy to “level” if the clip wasn’t attached correctly.
