(I hope someone reads this forum before tomorrow…)
I’m going to a meeting at Tribune Tower tomorrow afternoon and my wife wants to take the kids to Shedd Aquarium while I’m there. Should I drop her and the kids off at the aquarium and park by the Tribune, or should she drop me off and park by the aquarium?
This may be a little late, but offhand I’d say you’re better off having your wife drop you at Trib Tower and then head over to Shedd. There’s parking out on Northerly Island near Adler Planetarium - complicated to explain how to get there but look on Google Maps. I don’t remember how much but it can’t be more than parking near the Trib. OTOH, she’d have to walk a couple blocks so if the kids are tiny, maybe easier to do it the other way around. There are several parking garages within a couple blocks of TT - for example, one on west side of Wabash just north of Trump Tower. Possibly something closer but that’s the first thing that occurs to me.
Thanks. It looks like the parking at Soldier Field and by the planetarium is $16, assuming there aren’t any special events going on tomorrow. Would garages near the Tribune likely be cheaper than that?
Not only that, but you can actually sometimes find parking meters on the street that leads to the Planetarium - I think it’s called Solidarity Drive. Even if the meters are expensive, a couple of hours there won’t cost you what it costs downtown near Michigan Ave. Enjoy.
