Where was Barack Obama, to stand for Democracy?

What books? You’re wrong so damn often, maybe you ought to change the books that you’re reading.

And your view of the Presidency is “informed” as much by your admitted personal negative feelings for Obama as it is by anything else. Probably more so, considering how often you’re just incredibly wrong (remember falling for birther crap?).

Not getting the joke. Can someone explain?

I link arms with Lobohan in condemning misdeeds by all parties, particularly the ones where there’s nothing in it for me.

coloring books.

All of them, any of them that have been in front of him over all these years.

Yeah, but I don’t get how that ties in with Colbiri’s post.

Also, sounding out words as he reads.

It only ties in categorically, John. Both put-downs involve disparagement of the subject’s literary perspicacity.

Really?

It’s considered a sign of being more than a little dim, if you move your lips while you read. Like first graders do when they are just learning.

That was the joke I intended.

I resemble that joke!

<raises hand>

I’ll confess that I “speak” a paragraph internally when I have trouble understanding what’s being said. I usually imagine a voice for the writer as well.

adaher usually sounds like Paul Ryan. (Or Paul Reubens, depends on the day and/or subject.)

Usually, I don’t literally move my lips, but I’m one of those guys who tends to pronounce each work in my head as I’m reading. And yeah, different voices for different writers.

Excuse me. You guys are getting in the way of Important Commentary on why Obama doesn’t give enough fucks about Democracy.

Isn’t there some new outrage to concern ourselves with today? That whole France thing is so… yesterday.

How did this hit 6 pages and the national news? Hey guys, help me out here - is this the pettiest shit that republicans on this board have banded together to bitch about, or am I missing something else?

This is so phenomenally dumb that it hurts. Obama did quite a few things, including sending Holder to deal with counterterrorism business, visiting the embassy, and phoning the president of France. Hollande made it clear that he wasn’t bothered, and that Obama’s response was good. What, we’re supposed to just take your word for it that that was nothing more than political posturing, and that he’s really quite upset about it? Never mind that people in Europe like Obama. He’s not some bumbling ranchhand with a penchant for directly and intentionally pissing off the entire continent. Everything about this is just so fucking stupid.

Still waiting for the French outrage to simmer down a bit. Luckily, the traditional French reticence and reluctance to display unseemly emotion is tamping down the fury, but they are boiling just below the surface. Hard to tell, with people so stoical and reserved.

And tone deaf? What about Netanyahu, who more or less thrust himself into the situation?

But just imagine, if you can, how many jihadists would throw their lives away for the merest chance to take out Obama and Netanyahu at the same time? Offering Allah an excellent opportunity to express His loyalties…

benghazi

The Dutch newspapers did not mention Obama in any way, but they did bitch about presidents of countries like Turkey coming in. “Why is our Dutch prez rubbing shoulders with a tyrant who silences protests in his own country” ??

Best joke I’ve heard all day. And it was during the WH Daily Briefing.

(paraphrasing) even Hitler thought it was important to get to Paris.
