[sub]Really, I’m not as redneck as my birth town would suggest.[/sub]

Newman, CA, a little town just outside Gustine, CA, which is a medium-sized town near Merced, CA, which is famous for being the place you turn on your way to Yosemite.

Washington, DC, at Geo. Washington Hospital.

Idaho Falls, Idaho

Los Angeles as well. Specifically, Culver City.

Well, my facetious reply is, “I was born in a crossfire hurricane, and I howled at my ma in the driving rain,”
but actually, I was born in Doniphan, MO in the Ozarks in 1961.

Sierra City, CA–a tiny, tiny (250 people!) mining town in the Sierra Buttes. Actually, I wasn’t born in the town, but in a log cabin along Highway 49. There were eight-foot snow drifts outside, and my dad delivered me himself.

My brother was born in town, two and a half years later, in the room above the bar/pizza parlor my dad owned. During Happy Hour. My dad delivered him, too, and my mom came down after the birth to have a glass of wine.

I swear to God that I’m not making any of this up.

Irvine, CA.
