Stella’s in Bellevue, NE. It’s just down Galvin from the base, basically a converted shack. The beer is cheep American, and ice cold, the burgers are greasy slabs of heaven on a bun. Now I’m hungry.
Letting my inner child run loose and break things.
The best ever is at the Sport-X in Salt Lake City, UT (if James is still cooking). Actually, all the food there is really good, especially breakfast (although a sports bar with pool tables and video games is an odd place to eat breakfast).
Here in New Brunswick, Canada, Irving has their Big Stop restauraunt chain, attached to some service stations. Kinda like a trucker’s spot, with a little class.
They’re notorious for good prices and HUGE servings. Anyways, the burger I always get there is prob’ly a 1/2 lb. burger, with onion, tomato and lettuce, topped with HP Steak Sauce, and sided with a heapin’ helpin’ of fries. I don’t know if this one compares with the ones you guys are describing, but it’s definitely among the best I’ve tried. the HP Steak Sauce, I think, is what does it for me… ::DROOL::
I don’t suffer from insanity…
I enjoy every minute of it!
Thanks, Redwing! I’d forgotten that place. Yep! Heaven on a bun. Nuummmmyy!!!
<slight thread hi-jack,When were you there? We just moved back from there in '97.>
You sing in my consciousness like a counterpoint to my life.

White Castle? Sliders? We used to call 'em murder burgers! Although, after closing a bar down, there’s almost nothing better, except maybe a Waffle House.
Hey, all you Texas people. No one’s going to mention Al’s Hamburgers in Arlington Tx? Yummmm Yum!
Damn, dude, I knew you were gonna’ beat me to this. I have to second this one. Best burgers ever. Especially after a hard day on the river drinking beer ;).
