Is it the part of the Pacific basin that is furthest east (near N. America), or is it the part of the Pacific near what Europeans call the Far East (near China)?
It would seem that however you look at it, it would be the area of the Pacific closest to the West Coast of America.
The Eastern Pacific is the eastern part of the Pacific, ie, next to the Americas. The Western Pacific is the “Far East”.
