wheres the kaboom

As most of us know, there are three things needed to produce fire:fule, oxogen and heat.
eg. A mixture of oxogen and hydrogen when exposed to a source of heat or spark will explode.Enough of it and it will explode violantly.
I decided to put this to a test . I placed a mixture of oxogen and hydrogen over a source of heat, covered it,…and ran like hell.I waited for the explosion and there was none.
I then took the mixture and placed it on an open flame, covered it,and again ran like hell. After a few minutes of trying to catch my breath(from all that runing) I again noticed…nothing. My question is-why???
I waited and waited and waited, the only thing that happened was the water boiled.

Wheres the KABOOM theres supposed to be an earth shatering KABOOM.- Marvin the martian-

This is getting hard. Somebody relieve me. (A Wallian exclamation)

A technotroll ?

Water is not a simply a homogeneous ‘mixture’ of hydrogen and oxygen. It is what I believe is called a molecule, formed by electrochemical bonds. I will leave the details to those who are well versed in the technical details.

To Kinoons
As it turns out water can bun .(or atleast according to Cecil)
Perhaps you should check the link above.
Thank you Rysdad

Once again Cecil comes through.

J P, try your experiment again, but this time, fill the room with fluorine gas first.

breathe deeply.

Yes, you can get water to burn in the presence of fluorine gas, but you didnt say anything about that
