I can take a few small samplings of it, but the stuff I’ve tried has a fairly “iron-y” taste which puts me off after a bit.
By odd coincidence I just had a liver sausage sandwich. On a wheat roll smeared with spicy maple mustard. Very tasty but calorific so I don’t indulge very often.
I get the liverwurst love (see above!), but what’s with the zombie love? Please consider just starting a new thread next time. I hates me some zombie threads.
Wherezat?
If Biggirl is still checking in on this thread, she should try the house-made liverwurst at Jubilat Provisions, just a dozen blocks down the street from her on Brooklyn’s fabulous Fifth Avenue. That is some good liverwurst.
Never cared for liverwurst, I must admit. The taste and mouthfeel both put me off.
I didn’t see the point of starting a new thread when this perfectly good one already existed. Plus, I don’t have to explain myself to you spoil sport. Don’t like it don’t respond to it.
The tradition in Spouse’s family is cheap store-bought sweet rolls (the kind in the foil tray), a layer of real butter, and braunschweiger on top. Sounds disgusting, but it actually is quite good.
And raw onion slices. Later, Listerine.
And chopped garlic dill pickles - NOT pickle relish.
