Pur carnauba is a natural wax-it is very hard and very expensvive. We now have all kinds of synthetic waxes-are they better than carnauba-based waxes? As far as my experience goes, I have never used a 100% carnauba wax-have you?
I did. I bought California Carnauba. It wasn’t all that expensive. It was a real bitch going on and about ten times as hard to get off.
I was truly in despair that I’d never finish. As it came off, it made this extremely fine powder that seemed to have some kind of magnetic charge that wanted to make it cling to the finish so that it looked like the car was covered with dust.
It took forever to get that off.
When it was done, it was all nice and shiny, but no shinier than with Eagle One Nanowax, or even Finish 2000, or any of a host of other synthetics. I also did not feel that it lasted particularly long. Again, the Carnauba seemed to have some kind of static charge or property that made it a magnet for dust.
Usually I wax every 4-6 weeks when it’s warm, but I think I put a coat of Nano over the Carnauba about a week or two later.
What a pain in the ass! I won’t be doing that again. I suppose though, that if you’re like me, you’re going to have to try it once yourself to get the urge out of your system.
