Like others have implied it depends on whether we’re talking about left hooks or blow jobs
I have expensive tastes, so I’m often disapointed by gifts. Not the giver’s fault, it’s all on me.
On the other side, it’s really disapointing to put some thought and money into a gift and seeing that you’ve missed the mark.
However, when you give somebody something and they truly, honestly appreciated and love it. Well, that’s a really awesome feeling.
Therefore, giving is my favorite.
With gifts, I almost always prefer giving, as I have very particular and specialised tastes, and already own most of the stuff I want. That’s right, I am the asshole that’s impossible to buy for.
When it comes to pleasure, I am more of a giver/sharer type. I am a top notch amatuer chef, and love to make people their fave foods. In other areas of sensuality, I enjoy recieving as much as I do giving, but with the added twist that I understand the pleasure of giving must be shared with my partner.
One area in which the giving/recieving thing is reversed with me is learning. I have taught, but I far prefer being a student. I would much rather get infomation/skills than get them anyday.
Assuming we’re talking about physical gifts, I definitely prefer giving over receiving. At this phase in my life, I consider myself largely non-materialistic. When I receive a gift, 99% of the time I think to myself “Great, what the fuck am I going to do with this thing?” or “How long should I pretend that I will ever use this before I throw it out?”
When it comes to non-material acts of kindness, I also really enjoy doing good deeds. That’s why I continue to edit Wikipedia. It just makes me feel great to know that people are benefiting from what I do.
When it comes to oral sex, receiving for the win. Vaginas are icky, plain and simple.
