Which (if any) of these jobs should I list on my resume?

Although I recently started a new job, I’m still trying to update my resume to keep it current “just in case”. Of the jobs I’ve held, I’m trying to narrow down what to keep on my resume, and what to leave off.

Basically, my current job and my previous job are going on the resume for sure. They are the only full-time, real-world jobs I’ve had since graduating college 4 years ago.

But I’ve got 2 other jobs that I’m not sure if I can include or not. I’d like to include one or the other, because I think it makes my resume look good to have 3 jobs. These jobs are as follows:

JOB A - Part-time liquor store job. This is a job I’ve had since I was in college, and its been more or less part time, although there would be stretches where I’d be working more than 40 hours. Technically I still work here, although it has become extremely part time for now (like one day every few months).

JOB B - During college a buddy’s dad got me work helping out at trade shows that the marketing company he works for put on. Basically it would be only a few shows a year, and that would be the only time I ever worked for the company. I wasn’t even technically on the company’s payroll, I’d just be paid cash on a show-by-show basis. I did this for about 5 years, so if I do list it on the resume I would put 1998-2003. The problem is that if anyone actually calls the company, they probably wouldn’t have a record of me, or have even heard of me. But, I did do a lot of varied tasks at the shows, so I can make it look kinda good on the resume.

So, in general, should I list either of these jobs on my resume? I realize that if I apply for specific positions, I may customize my resume, but I’m wondering more right now about a generic version of my resume.

As for job A and B it sounds like you were really helping them out when needed, getting paid (hopefully well), for just the time they needed you - a very valuable service to a employer. I would suggest asking both if they would mind, and what they would be willing to say, also I WAG that you could ‘encourage’ them in what to say.

A doesn’t strike me as overly valuable but B certainly does if you could expand upon your important tasks in the position. Should we page msmith357?
