Several news reports state that kings and popes have been entombed in St. Peter’s Basilica, and I’ve failed to find via Google any mention of which kings are there.
See “the Monument to the Royal Stuarts”: “To James III, son of King James II of Great Britain, to Charles Edward and to Henry, Dean of the Cardinal Fathers, sons of James III, the last of the Royal House of Stuart. 1819” – all three are buried in the crypts beneath the basilica. All three were recognized as kings of England and Scotland by the Jacobites.
Anyone else got a less controversial interment?
The Saxon king Cedwalla, for one. See here for more details. Scroll down to “The Vatican Cemetary.”
I Googled it, and this is what I found:

Thanks all!
