Which National Park Did You Last Visit?

Monocacy Battlefield. It’s a National Historic Site. I’m not sure of the last park.

Carlsbad Caverns in May.

We currently have an exchange student living with us so we have been to Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain Nation Park, Arches, and Canyonlands in the last 6 months. I had never been to Yellowstone before (amazingly); that park is seriously amazing!

I have the great good fortune to live 45 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, so the answer to the OPS question will generally be RMNP. The last national park I traveled to visit was Yellowstone.

Wife and I did all three of these in 2010 with the two youngest. Been through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest quite a few times since then, most recently 2 years ago.

National Forests are administered by the Department of Agriculture. National Parks are administered by the Department of Interior.

How about National Lakeshores? When I recently investigated them, I was surprised to learn that there were only 4 of them, they were all on either Lake Michigan or Lake Superior, and that I had visited ALL of them during my lifetime.

Sleeping Bear Dunes in MI
Indiana Dunes
Apostle Islands in WI
Pictured Rocks in MI

My eldest and I actually swam out to the ice caves at Pictured Rock one amazing day when the water temp was in the 60’s in Lake Superior. A fantastic memory.

Grand Teton National Park. Went to Wyoming in July, did most of my hiking in the Bridger-Teton National Forest but I did spend a couple days in Grand Teton.

I was just up in the North Cascades (Washington State). It was wet but beautiful. Also, Olympic, Lassen, Redwood, and a bunch of National Forests and Recreation Areas.
