Which of the largest 15 metro areas have you been to?

The idea for this poll was prompted by vontsira’s thread What is the largest city in your country, that you have not been to?, but I’m making it worldwide.

Taking from the list in Wikipedia’s article List of metropolitan areas by population the top-ranking 15 metro areas (all with over 15 million population), which cities have you been to? (I’m putting the question in a positive way, and please don’t tick cities where you just changed planes at one of the airports, or changed trains at one of the railway stations.)

Note: I’ve added Beijing to the list, since the current version of the Wikipedia article is missing a city at position 12, and Beijing seems the most likely to belong there. And I’ve been to 6 out of the 15, and plan to add a 7th next month, when I visit Seoul (I’ve been to Seoul-Incheon Airport three times, but that doesn’t count).

I’ve spent significant time visiting or living in ten of the cities in your wiki link, but only three in your poll. Why the discrepancy?

None of the above. I’ve been to London (18th) and Toronto (in the list but not ranked.)

And now I wonder how San Francisco compares with the metro areas on that list.

There are approx 46 cities (I might have miscounted) on the wiki link at the moment. OP was attempting to narrow to the largest 15 out of the list.

My three are the three most visited, so far, and given the population on these boards I expect it to stay that way. I feel boring.

But Mexico Cite, the third most visited, only has 7 votes.

I’ve only been to four of them. Seoul I visited while stationed in Korea with the US Army. I was in Tokyo overnight, on a layover, and really saw nothing, so maybe I shouldn’t have counted it. I’ve visited New York once, and LA several times.

I’ve never been to any of the cities in the poll. The largest one in the Wikipedia list I’ve been to is Washington, D.C.

On the poll list, Delhi and Beijing. Additional on the linked Wiki list: Barcelona, Berlin, London, Paris. Have passed through the Ruhr conurbation in Germany by train, but that does not meet the OP’s criteria.

Having never made it to any location in Asia, most of these are closed to me.

Yes, of the 15, just 3 are in North America, 1 is in South America, and 1 is in Europe (Moscow). There are none in Western Europe and none in Africa.
