Which one of these board memes annoys you the most?

I never understood why the quarry one bothered anybody. Creed Bratton was a very underrated character on the Office.

Agreed.

Yep. That and “Whoosh!”.

Cant remember the quarry one.

The sig was my pick of the ones listed, however, I think it should be banned.

Oooh, snap!

Yeah, despite what Dawkins may want, the word has changed meaning. Live with it.

It bugs me only as he’s been told it annoys the snot out of many posters, and has been asked to stop it, but continues- just to piss people off.

Get off the ramp folks and forget all this other stuff. We now live in the era of stinky footed bumpkins. If anyone doesn’t like it and wants to be an Egyptologist they can suck my geyser.

Regards,
Sunsets and rainbows.

This kind of kvetching has been going on for nine years. Two things -
[ol][li]Not in order to piss people off. Rather, because I like it, and don’t much care if some other minority doesn’t. There is a difference.[/li][li]Read the rules. [/li][QUOTE]
You can do a simple signoff of the form:

[complimentary close - optional]
[your name]

… at the end of each post. By “complimentary close” we mean some brief valedictory such as “regards,” “peace,” etc. Please don’t push the envelope.

[/ol]Perhaps one day we can finally sign this particular equine death certificate. I ain’t holding my breath.

My timing is exquisite to register my dislike for ‘Regards…’

Completely redundant.

It comes off as somebody who doesn’t understand how a message board works. It would be annoying from someone like that, but when it comes from somebody who has been told many, many times that it is annoying and then still does it, it becomes infinitely more annoying.

However, free world and all that.

What would you say it means today?

  1. No one besides you likes it. Some few put up with it or dont care.

  2. Just because it’s legal doesnt mean you have to do it.

No regards

The Op used it correctly.

I don’t believe this is accurate, and I don’t believe the burden of proof whether it is or isn’t lies with me.

No, I don’t have to. I can if I want. I do want. Deal.

Regards,
Shodan

That’s exactly why I like it, actually!

The OP used the word…but offers no context to know what the definition is. You said the definition has changed. Can you go into just a bit more detail?

No, I don’t have to. Deal.:stuck_out_tongue:

Such a dumb thing to be annoyed by, I find the complaints more annoying honestly. After all these years how can you even notice it any more? It is automatic and and its going to be there.

I like it. I guess that means you’re wrong? Or maybe you’re just mistaken?

Jesus’ bones! You ask for a clarification here, and “I don’t haveta.”

Can someone else, please, help me understand what a meme is, if Dawkins’ definition has changed?

(I’m still sad at the change in the word “hacking,” from just “doing computer stuff in a somewhat obsessive fashion” to “breaking and entering computer systems.” I used to be a hacker, but I’m not one anymore!)

I like your sign off, Shodan.
