Both of these Linksys routers are the same price at newegg. What is the difference? I just want to connect 2 home PCs to my cable modem and I’m getting sick of ICS. Which should I choose?

Linksys BEFSR41 or BEFSX41

Should I even buy one of these or should I buy a cheaper D-Link or AOpen?

My vote is for the Linksys BEFSR41. Have one, and love it.

Looks like:

is extra stuff on the “X” model, as well as serves as a VPN endpoint.

Almost looks like the only difference is the firmware.
