So the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Boston Celtics and there are some reports of riots. Last year there was a lot of publicity when there was considerable damage to public property after the Lakers won.
What sports and/or teams tend to have the worst or rowdiest fans? Have you seen it more in long-established rivalries or at upsets due to near impossible situations or bad calls? More during elimination/playoffs or finals?
well soccer has a bad rep
Football hooliganism is unruly and destructive behaviour —such as brawls, vandalism and intimidation—by association football club fans.[1] Fights between supporters of rival teams may take place before or after football matches at pre-arranged locations away from stadiums, in order to avoid arrests by the police, or they can erupt spontaneously at the stadium or in the surrounding streets. Football hooliganism ranges from shouts and fistfights to riots in which firms clash with bats, bottles, rocks, knives or guns[citation needed].[2] In some cases, stadium brawls have caused fans to flee in panic; some being killed when fences or walls collapsed.[3] In the most extreme cases, hooligans, police, and bystanders have been killed, and riot police have intervened with tear gas, armoured vehicles and water cannons.[4]
A football firm (also known as a hooligan firm) is a gang formed to fight with supporters of other clubs. Some firms, especially in southern and eastern Europe, have been linked with far right politics or racism, other firms have been associated with leftist politics or anti-racism. The firms’ political views are not representative of all supporters of the teams. In the 1970s and early 1980s, the casual subculture transformed the British football hooliganism scene. Instead of wearing working class skinhead-style clothes, which readily identified hooligans to the police, firm members began wearing designer clothes and expensive offhand sportswear.
and didn’t El Salvador invade Honduras to get back for game?
Bingo at the Senior Center is pretty bad. Only their extreme physical limitations keep them from being up there with soccer.

I once read that the worst fans in baseball were not Yankee or Philadelphia fans.
The players said the worst were at Candlestick Park. Probably because it was so cold there, even in summer, so they drank more to stay warm.

Well, back when I was taking photos at 49ers games, the fans generally behaved themselves. Of course, this was at the tail end of the Montana/Young dynasty years. I think all of that relentless winning drove out the rowdies and brought in the see-and-be-seen crowd, people who are too busy being fashionable to raise much of a fuss.
Raiders games, on the other hand, were a completely different story.
Soccer. By far soccer. Soccer fans make Lakers or Celtics (which should have a hard “c” btw, stupid bostonians…) look tame.
Soccer fans have started riots, lit stadiums on fire (Israel v Bosnia) some regularly light flares up all over their seating section, etc.
you’re awesome d(^-^)
