Which would you rather have a side of for breakfast? Hashbrowns or corned beef hash?

I’ll go with corned beef hash, only it’s not a side – it’s the main part of the meal.

I had some good corned beef hash up north–in Connecticut perhaps? But it was the “main” breakfast dish. The default canned hash is pretty grim.

Down here, the choice is usually between hash browns & grits. Hash browns are often part of a Mexican Breakfast.

Low carb diet. Bring on the meat.

Corned beef hash for me. Most restaurant hash browns are shredded. I much prefer diced.

…but with these two things, you must have either one or the other.

What is this, Russia?

I’m having both.

Corned beef hash is not a side.

I’ve enjoyed a plate of eggs & corned beef hash with a side of hash browns before, though.

I’m a vegetarian, but I loves me some corn beef hash. Hash browns are just potatoes.

Corned beef hash. And Tabasco.

It’s just more flavorful than hashbrowns.

Never even heard of corned beef hash. Not sure if I’ve ever tried corned beef in any form.

Since I’m not allowed to say “neither” I will begrudgingly let you put the hash browns on my plate. DO NOT allow them to touch anything else.

The only proper place for corned beef is between two pieces of rye bread.

CBH. Extract and eat only the corned beef part.

Corned beef hash is one of my favorite things in the world, combined with a couple of runny eggs and some rye toast. I respect my body too much to have it more than once or twice a year, but that’s been one of my favorite breakfasts since childhood. I don’t even care if it’s from-the-can-smells-like-dogfood Hormel corned beef hash or actual homemade corned beef hash. I like it all. So easy choice for me.

I have bad news for you…

I find hash browns and home fries to be rather bland and bulky.

I voted hash browns, because believe it or not, I’ve never had corned beef hash.

Corned beef hash.

With a pair of sunny-side up eggs on top and liberally sprinkled with Tabasco or Crystal.

Excuse me for a moment, I need to go find a Greek breakfast place.

This is ironic for a poster called “Irishman” to say because, in America, corned beef is perceived to be “Irish food.” Corned beef and cabbage is served on St. Patrick’s Day by Irish-American families and at Irish-themed pubs.

Corned beef is salt-cured beef. It can be sliced and served in sandwiches. For corned beef hash, it is chopped and fried with pieces of potatoes.

There’s also “red flannel hash.” Corned beef hash with beets added. Great Old New England dish, made from the leftovers of a “boiled dinner”

I don’t know that I’ve ever had corned beef hash, so this sounds like a good strategy.

As far as the side of cheeseburger goes, I was driving my grandson home from his baseball game last week and he wanted me to stop and get him something to eat on the way home. He’s a growing boy of 15, so what did he order at the DQ drive-thru? A double cheeseburger combo plus another double cheeseburger!

Don’t like corned beef hash so it’s not even a contest. The hashbrowns have to be crispy or they get left on the plate.
