I guess this will be a test of White House security, if nothing else. I assume they’ll be able to figure out who left it there. That’s me being optimistic.

I’m sure that various means of searching, by hand and by machine, are used.
The people processed are invited visitors rather than random people off the street. Nobody is going to strip search them. That’s what would be required to find something as small as a baggie of coke. One could be pushed down at the bottom of a pocket and be forgotten, which is probably what happened.
Nothing like getting invited to the WH and forgetting about the coke in your pocket at the last minute.
