You don’t get it, but I didn’t expect that anyone would.

Again, the political left in America can keep talking to “centrists” and “conservatives” this way – and they can keep getting their asses kicked in election after election.

Conservatives control the White House.

They control the Senate.

The control the House.

They’re about to control the judiciary.

They control the state legislatures --33 out of 50. One short of what is required to rewrite the entire fucking Constitution.

So the “solution” in your mind is for these awful trans people to bow their heads and stop looking at you so meanly. Perhaps they should just remain out of sight entirely, so they don’t make the right wing bigots uncomfortable? That will help win elections, right?

And now that the right controls everything, those horrible people who make you uncomfortable with their very existence will no longer be allowed to change their countenance in your presence. In fact, they will not be allowed to exist in the brave new world to come.

Time for you to celebrate!

Some prime quotes; Not so much dog whistles as “dog trumpets”. Oh, but we’re assured that we have nothing to worry about with these people. Nothing at all.

“We’ve crossed the Rubicon in terms of recognition,” Spencer said at the conference, which was sponsored by his organization, the National Policy Institute.

Spencer’s after-dinner speech began with a polemic against the “mainstream media,” before he briefly paused. “Perhaps we should refer to them in the original German?” he said.

The audience immediately screamed back, “Lugenpresse,” reviving a Nazi-era word that means “lying press.”

Trump’s election, Spencer said, was “the victory of will,” a phrase that echoed the title of the most famous Nazi-era propaganda film.

“America was, until this last generation, a white country designed for ourselves and our posterity,” Spencer thundered. “It is our creation, it is our inheritance and it belongs to us.”

As he finished, several audience members had their arm outstretched in a Nazi salute. When Spencer, or perhaps another person standing near him at the front of the room – it was not clear whom – shouted, “Heil the People! Heil Victory,” the room shouted it back.

Never saw such a butt-hurt collection of Liberals, at least, that weren’t out on the streets doing violence on the streets in Liberal cities. Gee, go to a Conservative City and try that game out. Easy to riot in a city that celebrates your destruction. Try that act where they don’t celebrate Liberal violence and depravity. Well, like the Muslim Patriarchy, feminists don’t like to riot where their targets will fight back. Although, I think feminists like the idea of being taken over by a Muslim (and darker) patriarchal rape culture…

The* Washington Post* article I read first did not see this meeting as the beginning of a Nazi takeover. Certainly, the movement has been energized by Trump’s ugly campaign & by his victory.

There was concern about what these guys might do if Trump disappoints them. The coalminers realizing the mines will not be opening up again might switch their votes, next time. A few of the White Nationalists might get violent.

Actually they won’t. As you say most Trump voters are not white nationalists nor would they support a white nationalist agenda and for that matter neither would Trump. Certainly he has radical ideas but they are very far removed from the goals of the KKK, etc.

Yes, the extremists are coming out of the shadows (although they’ve never made much effort to hide themselves) and they will be applauding many of Trump’s actions in government but they’re going to be sadly disappointed if they believe that Trump is a rabid Nazi under the skin. He isn’t.

No, he’s much more akin to a Marge Schott, where he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, lived in a time where bigotry was accepted, and thinks he’s better than everyone else.

I’m reminded of that when people talk about the perils we can expect as a result of the rise “White Nationalism.” Especially after I read an article about Steve Bannon, in which he said “I’m not a White Nationalist. I’m a Nationalist.”

NATIONALISM IS THE PROBLEM, NOT SPECIFICALLY WHITE NATIONALISM!

Yeesh, it’s like focusing on “short-fingered,” and overlooking “vulgarian.”

(That said, I do get that most of the triumphalists seem to be beating a “White” tattoo on their drums…)
