Who am I? (Jeopardy question)

Suppose a celebrity contestant got an answer in which he was the question. Would this question count?

How could this ever happen? The producers know who will be on the show.

If they did this as a joke, maybe with all three celebrities having answers, then of course it would count. Their game, their rules.

Who’s going to say no? The Supreme Court of Game Shows?

I don’t think they would ever let that happen. It’s not like they don’t know the categories and questions beforehand. the producers, I mean.

They would probably allow “Who am I?” just as much as “Who is <Firstname> <Lastname>”. But since the game show producers are the ones setting and interpreting the rules (and drafting the questions before the show), it’s really up to them to decide what counts and what doesn’t.

I wonder if SNL Sean Connery ever got a answer he was the question too, and how he handled it.

Didn’t that sort of happen on Celebrity Jeopardy with Kareem?

I was just going to mention the Kareem thing. It wasn’t a “Who Am I?” category. It was movie quotes, or something like that. As I recall, it was about identifying who said the line about dragging Walton and Lanier up and down the court.

Sadly, Kareem missed it.

The BBC Radio panel game Quote…Unquote has occasionally done something like this, giving panelists a quote from themselves to identify. They don’t always get it.

“Never Mind The Buzzcocks” gives people snippets of their own lyrics to finish a lot. They are missed a lot

Isn’t that why Huey Morgan lost it and smashed his mug?

This clip is highly worth it even if you have never seen the show.
