Who are the scariest prominent conservatives who are not household names?

That would be a really smart way to do things. ‘Prosperity Gospel FTW’, he could write it off as ‘operating costs’. Maybe get the cars for free from manufacturers.

Bolding mine.

Which is very little, actually. Goldwater was pro-choice*, pro-gay rights, very much against the Religious Right, etc. He wouldn’t be quite as popular today.

*His wife, Peggy, was a founder of Planned Parenthood in Arizona. When their daughter became pregnant in the 1950s, they helped her obtain an abortion. Today, PP in Arizona has an award named after Mrs. Goldwater.

Lemme guess – its initials are F.R.?

I’m puzzled. Are we supposed to discuss the people suggested or just crack jokes? If the latter, I guess that’s okay. It’s your thread. But I’m afraid I don’t see the point.

So cracking the occasional joke stops you from being able to post something?

The book was originally released in May 2008. He was out on the talk show circuit again this year because the paperback version came out in June.

My senator, Jim Inhofe has made it his life’s mission to spread disinformation about AGW. He scares me. I used to sell guns to him when he was mayor of Tulsa. He’s a dick of the highest order.

I did post something. All it drew was a fairly weak joke. Anyhoo, never mind about me. As I said, it’s your thread. Have fun.

 You mean, you used to sell guns to the Tulsa police force? Or to Mayor Inhofe personally?

This right wing group , The Council for National Policy, flies under the radar. A partial list of members is here. The group was seeded by E.L. Hunt and a couple other billionaires. It includes the Coors Family, Shiafly, Ollie North, the Bushes, Bork, The Devoss Family, Delay, Dick Armie, and other wealthy people.

To him personally. He’s a collector and I worked in a gun store. He’s every bit the douche that he appears to be.
