I’m asking about self-proclaimed atheists that are public about their lack of belief in god.
My theory is that most people who claim to believe in god have a “just in case” mentality, either consciously or subconsciously. Thus, the very wealthy or very poor tend to be more religious. The wealthy have something to protect so they “believe” just in case there is a god who can take everything away. The poor “believe” just in case a god exists, who may pull them out of poverty.
Based on this Wikipedia list, I’ll suggest Mark Zuckerberg, whose Facebook stock is worth about $16 billion. Any atheists richer than that?

Per this Wikipedia reference, both Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are agnostics. Does that count?
I think self-proclaimed agnostics would count for this discussion.
