So about a month ago my second phone line was down. I checked out the wiring in the house and everything seemed
OK. Called Ameritech, they (said they) sent someone out to
the premises and “it would be fixed before 6 today”.
Repeat 4 times.
Today I had to wait at home this afternoon (much to my
boss’s displeasure) for someone to come out and look at
it. When he was done, he told me “it should be working
now”. I checked and got a dial tone.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that he had only
switched around the two lines! Calls to the working line
are now ringing on the opposite phone and – guess what–
the other line is STILL NOT WORKING!!!
