Rollins IS intelligent. I’ve seen him do a spoken word show, very funny and very thought provoking. This from the guy that toured with Black Flag for years. Pushing busses, getting hassled by the cops, eating out of dumpsters and everything else guys in poor punk bands do. He is pretty strong, but also pretty short. I would not be affraid of running into him in a dark alley. Not that I wouldnt get my ass beat in a fight with him (I would), but Henry wouldnt hurt a fly unless provoked.
I’d be more affraid to run into anybody with a large posse of gansta’s (poser gansta’s or not). People trying to put up an “image”. Someone like m&m or coolio.

I’m sure you can do some google searches to come up with some good stories, but this guys was just plain nuts. He’d routinely fight with fans at concerts, cut him self open on stage. He was scheduled to give a speech at some college (in NY, I think?) … he went up on stage naked, shoved a banana up his ass and then pulled it out and threw it a the crowd, and then threw chairs around until he was arrested. He always said he was going to kill himself onstage…but (IIRC) he didn’t…he died of a heroin overdose about 5 or 7 years ago. Like I say, if you want some other (probably better stories), hit google.
I went to a Rollins Band concert ~ 10 years ago. At the beginning of the show, Hank says, all nice like: “I only want to say this once. No stage diving. Stay off of my stage, thanks.” So after a couple songs, some yahoo runs across the stage and dives off. After the song was done, He says (again, very mellow): “I’m serious. Stay OFF the stage.” 3 or 4 songs later Some kid hops up on stage…Rollins drops the mic, grabs him by his lapels, and does this wierd judo throw/hip flip on this guy…end result being that about .24 seconds after Rollins grabbed him, this kid was thrown face first into the floor with cringing force He whipped his face in the floor and his arms and legs were still up in the air. He’s pretty damn strong…I wouldn’t F with him.
