Depending on the season he was paid between 1MM and 1.8MM per episode and appeard in 178 episodes. So, at least around $200MM+ over the run of the show.
He did, in fact, stop taking his anti-virals for a while to try some alternative drugs from Mexico. Dr. Oz, of all people, convinced him to go back on them.
He seems like a man who is easily fooled by snake-oil salesmen.
Speaking of the Sheen family, Martin is 79. And proof that genetics isn’t always reliable.
He was a fairly rich movie star before he ever had a hit TV series. Certainly as rich as a retired basketball player, I’d wager. In any case, he’s not some penniless beggar with no way to pay for life prolonging treatment, even if he has to pick up more acting gigs (and you know he’d be able to find work, even after his bad departure from 2.5 men).
Every time I read this thread time, the name that pops into my head is Barry Manilow.
What’s wrong with her (besides the fact that she’s a lot older than most people think she is)?
Whoopi Goldberg almost died a few months ago; she got pneumonia and went septic, and implied that she was on life support for a while.
Is it too late to mention Larry King?
He’s 85, just had angioplasty to open up vessels that were put in during a previous bypass. He’s diabetic, has prostate and lung cancer.
Tina Turner.
She’s 80. In the last few years she had a stroke, intestinal cancer, and kidney failure. She got a kidney transplant. Is or was considering assisted suicide.
Now that you mention it, I do remember hearing about the stroke. Didn’t know about the other things.
I also know that she lives in Switzerland, which does do physician-assisted suicide to people who qualify.
Sorry to see all that; she’s wonderfully talented and a survivor in so many other ways.
