Who does Hoffman's Capote remind me of?

…with maybe a touch of Peter Lorre, circa The Maltese Falcon?

You fat, bloated eediot!

PSH looks like Andy Richter wearing Barry Goldwater’s glasses.

This is actually true. I look more like Capote than Hoffman does. Hoffman is too tall to play Capote. This is why most of Hoffman’s scenes had him sitting down, so that it wasn’t clear how tall he is.

Dill in To Kill a Mockingbird.

I first saw Capote on TV when I was around four. Not knowing what he did, the first thing I thought of when he talked was “It’s the voice of Droopy Dog!”

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed the similarity.

He reminds me of accomplished actor and songwriter Paul Williams ala Little Enos Burdette.

I think Hoffman studied Smokey and the Bandit II for pointers on how to play Capote.

I have always thought that David Sedaris sounds a little bit like Truman Capote.

Holy shit, that’s IT!

I saw you say it in a thread a few weeks ago. I didn’t think of it at the time I met you, but after you said it, I can see it.
