Who does Hoffman's Capote remind me of?

I had not seen Capote in cinemas. I saw a few clips on the Oscars. And lo! The fat, intensely annoying guy on screen REMINDED me of someone. It couldn’t have been the real Truman Capote because I’d never seen him before a few weeks ago. So: WHO?

He reminded me of Milton from Office Space. “Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler.”

PSH used some of the mannerisms he used in The Big Lebowski.

Have you ever seen “Murder by Death”? Perhaps he reminded you of the manor owner?

Have you ever met Wendell Wagner?

It’s hard to say who he reminded you of. Capote was a pretty unique character. Doesn’t remind me of anyone.

Stewie from Family Guy.

Not in the slightest.

Carol Channing on Quaaludes.

I just nodded off in my chair and found a partial answer: Old Guy with Moustache from The Simpsons! I dunno his name, but he shows up from time to time. He’s an old guy with a grey moustache with a voice somewhat similar to Capote’s. There was an episode where Mr Burns was giving him a farewell party and he didn’t want to retire and was in fact being forced into it… can’t remember the significance of that though.

But I still don’t have the AHA! feeling so there must be someone else. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Leslie Jordan as Beverly Leslie on Will & Grace?

He totally reminded me of that guy! What a ripoff! Revoke his Oscar!

Droopy the Dog?

To the OP- maybe Julia Sweeny’s Pat?

I’m looking forward to seeing Capote & I’m glad Hoffman got the Oscar- I have fond childhood memories of seeing him on various talk shows, not having any idea what he was famous for, but enjoying his funny bitchy raconteuring (sp?).

When Orson Bean dies, I shall wear black.

Which one of us got whooshed? That was Truman Capote in Murder by Death.

Walloon:

That’s not bad, actually. Raspberries!

William F. Buckley in a House Of Mirrors?

That would be you.

twickster’s right. The use of three exclamation points in middleman’s post should have tipped you off.

Indeed.

Maybe middleman is just an excitable type. Or an excitable typist.

In all fairness to CookingWithGas, it isn’t too big of a whoosh if you ask if you were the one whooshed.

Hoffman as Capote reminded me very much of an older, balder and blonder Jack Black.
