David Owen, in his book Sheetrock & Shellac (which I highly recommend to any would-be do-it-yourselfers), has a theory that unfinished home improvement projects are a way of reaching for immortality. After all, if you still have to paint the bedroom, you can’t die yet, right?
I can’t knit. I can’t knit. I cannot knit my way out of a paper bag (you know, on the off chance I ever needed to).
Nonetheless, I have resolved to learn.
